This type of listing activity annoys the hell out of me and I have taken it upon myself to report it as fraudulent to e-bay. They list it as an auction but won't allow bids? Join me, won't you?

always report those when they appear in my searches, well known those are already...

This guy has lots of precious stuff with low start bidding price. But I never jumped onto. Strange this photo says the don't allow bid. I never read carefully.

Looks like he's trying to avoid paying any transaction fees to ebay.

This description just screams "I'm going to shaft you six ways to Sunday if you buy this from me". This seller could be selling the real Hope Diamond at $3000 and I wouldn't even look at it. It is a scam plain and simple

Report -- yes, but this scammer will be back in business just as soon as he opens up another throwaway email account. They are like cockroaches and will NEVER disappear.

Common sense is needed when you see these seller advertisements.

If you are interested, "Caveat Emptor"

It's a well-known scam that's been going on for years. Usually it's ran on abandoned/hacked accounts, and easy to recognize by a huge load of super-expensive and often rare gear they post at the time - Leica, Canon Whites, 60-year Contaxes, that sort of thing. They also dabble in brass instruments, that's another way to recognize them. To eBay's credit they know about it and lately by the time I see the listing has already been taken down.

He has none of the items he advertises. These are all eBay photos lifted from previous auctions. He manages to hack into the accounts of reputable sellers to make them look legit, and then once the mark is hooked, he gets them off eBay.

Good to know. I never would buy anything that sketchy looking anyway, but good to know.

Definitely to be avoided & reported. They often seem to use the same photographs repeatedly, and eventually these photos become recognisable.

This person appears to be absolutely everywhere- I wonder what they get out of it? I didn't notice until recently that they used other people's photos. Definitely whack a mole for ebay.

Maybe not so wack a mole as they haven't bothered to block any auction which includes that image. One of the many image search engines found many duplicates on ebay -- a simple script would identify all those auctions.

I just find it extremely annoying and a huge waste of time. I often screen sales for auction only. After skimming through page after page after page of ridiculously overpriced BIN listings I just want see listings that are actually interested in making a sale. Then this crap pops up. Grrrr....

This is not nearly as annoying as a myriad of listings with "oh, and by the way most of the stuff in the photos is not for sale".
