Line across 2 rolls of 35mm film

Had two rolls of film (Fujicolor) developed and all of the prints had a horizontal line across the frames.

Looked inside the camera, and couldn't see anything on the non-emulsion side, where the negatives seemed to be scratched.

I suspect the drugstore processing is to blame- not the Olympus XA2.

I had the same a few years ago. The line is black so that means the emulsion is damaged. 99.9% certain its the lab. The colours dont look too good. Bad machine hygiene and chemical replenisher not being used as often as it could.

If there are no marks on the neg and the negs look correctly exposed (not thin)....... then I'd take them back and complain.

Ok, not the chemical processor, perhaps its the scanner used for the negs. A black line could indicate dirt on the scanner head. Regards the processing, no matter how well exposed the negs if the chemicals are not up to C41 standard you could get muddy colours or a cast.

Lots of things go wrong in minilabs. It could be a combination of many things. My advice is use another.
