Shuri Castle, Okinawa

A couple of weeks ago I visited Shuri Castle in Okinawa. Here are some of the photos from the trip.

The ceilings are a bit low.

The bell is also a bit low.

Okinawa, from the castle, is especially scenic.

The castle, now a red lacquer building, has taken a number of forms over the years and been destroyed by fire more than once. The castle today looks much different than the castle of 100 years ago.

The building on the right looks more like the castle of 100 years ago. I forget if all the buildings are being repainted or not.

I also had some fun with Photoshop.

In all, I'd say I stormed the castle.

We left right as the castle closed and the moon rose over the castle wall.
