This lens has silver nose. All metal. Black aperture ring with whole clicks. 8 blades/octagon. It has a knob on aperture ring, when pressing down, it allows changing aperture stepless. The aperture scale has 2 rows of numbers. First row: 2.8, 4, 5.6, 8, 11, 16, 22. Second row (below the aperture values): 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9. MFD is ~0.25m. Filter Ø55mm.
I can't find much info about it - about age, value, reviews etc.
My tests on Nex5n show the lens is good at wide open. Some minor glow at f2.8, but contrast is good.
Any step down is better. f5.6 might be the best for portrait distance.

Wide open, no PP:

#2:
#3, near minimum focus distance:
#4, normal distance
#5 at f5.6, standard jpg output from LR, increased aperture with 1/3 brighter:

That's an earlier series then mine. It was made from 1958 -1966.
A couple pictures of the lens including the serial number and I should be able to get a lot closer to the actual year it was made.

+1
I believe with that serial number range it would place it as a 1959. _________________
