Hi!
I saw this on that auction site. It didn't sell. Here is the link to the auction, in case you want to follow it:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/AETNA-ROKUNAR-200-mm-Lens-1-3-5-No-187200-Used-/151082707843?orig_cvip=true
It looks almost the same as a Tamron Adapt-A-Matic 200/3.5 (not Adaptall or Adaptall-II). Is it? If not, what is it? And who/what were Aetna Rokunar?
Cheers! _________________ --Glasslover

I believe so.
One of the undocumented fixed mount types similar to the ones sold as "Vernon Edonar".
The M/A switch style is an identifying feature.
These were usually similar to corresponding Adaptamatic, but not always.
The 200/3.5 had some differences from the 200/3.5 Adaptamatic I believe. Aperture and min focus. _________________ I like Pentax DSLR's, Exaktas, M42 bodies of all kinds, strange and cheap Japanese lenses, and am dabbling in medium format/Speed Graphic work. |

Hi!
calvin83 and luisalegria, thanks for your help. I like the Adapt-A-Matic concept in these old lenses much more than fixed mount. Still, I'm happy to hear that my tentative identification of this lens as Tamron-made is likely correct.

Here's a picture of my Tamron Adapt-A-Matic 200/3.5. It looks very very similar.
Not a bad lens.
Happy shots! |

I always thought it was a pretty good lens.
I still have not finished a portfolio for it, I should. _________________ I like Pentax DSLR's, Exaktas, M42 bodies of all kinds, strange and cheap Japanese lenses, and am dabbling in medium format/Speed Graphic work. |
