HI all,

Just received two New Old Stock Lentars, a 35mm f/3.5 Super-Lentar and a 135mm f/3.5 Tele-Lentar. Now I know there is no great shakes here - no Leitz or Zeiss, just your average Japanese preset T-mount lenses. The wonderful part of this is that these are really, really in nice condition, in original boxes with an actual Lentar lens brochure with lens specs and diagrams, etc. (reproduced below). I find it pretty cool to see what these lenses might have looked like on a camera store shelf some 40-50 years ago. Usually when you see these, they are pretty beat up. I won't go into huge detail here as we have all probably seen these a million times before. Oh yeah, and I nabbed them for $10 including shipping. The original prices scrawled on the side of the boxes are $28.27 for the 35 and $27.27 for the 135.

Hope you enjoy!

Interesting - I have only ever seen the 3/28 under the caspeco lable, I had wondered if anybody else ever sold it. Never seen a diagram of it before either.

Those presets are Tokinas, decent lenses, sharp enough, a bit low in contrast and saturation but simple to fix in PP.

I nearly bought a 3.5/180 the other day, it was tempting because it was so cheap.

Interesting how the 3.5/35 and 2.8/35 are constructed, the 2.8 is very similar to the Voigtlander Skoparex - a Tessar with two extra elements in front to widen the field. The 3.5 is a triplet with two extra elements stuck in front.

Good job!
That's nearly all the Tokina product line of the mid to late 60s right there.
Including even the 100/4 which is pretty uncommon. Interesting to see its a triplet, which makes sense.
I have them all but the 600mm which tends to run to some money.
The 28/3 is indeed the oddest of the bunch but its not actually rare.
I have one but I need to fix the aperture.

The 4/100 is seen not all that infrequently, I've had two of them. It appears as a Hanimex and a Palinar, I think as an Optomax too. I was surprised it's a triplet too, but it does make sense. The designs are all really simple apart from that 3/28.

I have the Tele-Lentar 2.8/153 in T-Mount, and it surprised me with how great of a lens it is. Not sure about your 3.5 version, but awesome to find them NIB!

Great fodder for us "archaeologists". Thanks.

Two things just occurred to me - these early Tokinas can be found as Hanimex for next to nothing. Secondly, they seem to usually have a H serial, regardless of branding.
