That lens just gets more and more expensive every time I see it. I wouldn't alter it. _________________ ________________________________________________________
I buy lots of lenses and sometimes I even use them...
Bought one very cheap (bad description on the bay), compared it to the Tokina 3.5/17, sold it at a very high price. Never regretted it, the Tokina was better

I believe the safest way to shorten the pin is previously removing the lens mount. Maybe the member ZoneV, who has experience with Minolta lenses, could help you:
