Some Helios-81 full frame samples wide open. Most are shot at minimum focus distance. Nikon D700 body.

No PP, just resized. Click the pics to see the bigger files.

100 % crop.

I´d say that this lens is sharp in the center. I can shoot brick walls, if somebody is interested.
I´m planning also to shoot a comparison with a Nikkor 50mm f/2 Ai.

The 1st and fourth images are my favourites from this group of lovely images.

Will be looking forward to the comparison.

Thank you!

I´d say, that the results are typical for a planar/double gauss design. Quite compact lens too, focused to infinity, it´s about 31 mm long, should we call it a "half-pancake"? Cool

Well, let´s see about the edge performance later. At least we could say, that this lens should be very good on APS-C and MFT cameras.

OK can you do some brick wall shots at different distances?

Gurdie,

Can you tell me which mount types this lens was made?
I would like to experiment in a EOS via M42,

As far as I know, the lens were made in M42, Automat, and N(F-) mounts by GOI, KMZ and Arsenal. Some versions are 52mm and 53 mm FL.
