Picked this one up dirt cheap as it has a little fungus.

Can't see any effect on the IQ, which I think is excellent. Not quite as good as my Konica 2.8/24 but close.

Flare test, not bad, a couple of purple flare spots, some loss of contrast, but pretty good for an old ultrawide.

f8, infinity, pretty sharp, contrast is very good, distortion is pretty good too:

Wide open, close-up, nice character, not so sharp, but sharp enough:

f5.6, pretty sharp, no CA, I like it:

All in all, a bargain for the 30ukp I paid for it, and I like the solid metal feel of these old Nikkors. Not sure how much use it will get though as I prefer my Konica 24mm. I bought this Nikkor to use on my EOS 450D, but I'm selling the EOS.

Very good result from an old single coated lens, congrats!

Cheers. It's probably the lens I will use when I don't want to risk damage to my Konica 24mm, which is precious to me. Smile

The konica must be as good as they say to beat this one. I have the later 24/2 and the AF version. Both are outstanding

It might be a matter of taste, but the Konica is a stunning lens, it has a fair bit of 3d going on.

I don't think one would go far wrong with any of them Smile

I drew the same conclusion, so I'm happy to have both to use.

A weekend outing yesterday.
Using the 24mm Nikkor with ND4.
ISO200, 20secs @ f22

I really like this lens, I have a David White AI'd version. This lens is the main reason I'm wanting a Nikon FF

Mine is an AI, made around 1979.
Taken on D300

I have a very clean, like new, 2,8/24 ais nikkor.

High contrast. Very good colors. Best aperture, f/5,6.

Till here, all ok. What not? It's not so sharp (resolution power).

My hexanon 24 was single coat, and the difference in favor of the mc of the nikkor is oresent.

Superb image.

Contrast really stands out with this lens. Cool Laughing

Gratias.
I don't like using f22 much, but needed to cut down the light for the slow shutter, even with ND4.
Luckily it was overcast.
Water was cold.

I like the old Nikkors as well. One of my all-time favorites is the 20mm f/3.5 UD.

I have a 24/2.8 AIs that doesn't get as much use as it would if I had an FF digital. And honestly when I'm shooting film I usually reach first for one of my Canon F-1s or my T90. So my 24mm just sort of sits there. I've owned it for many years -- like 23 or so? And it has always performed well for me -- well, except for being somewhat soft on the corners. This is one of the most recent photos I've taken with it, which is actually a few years old. I've posted it here before. Nikon F2 and Kodak Ektar.

I believe I shot this at f/8. This photo is a good one for illustrating the softness of the corners, which is still quite noticeable even at f/8.

Nikkor-N 24/2.8 on a F100 with Neopan 400 in it. D76 1:1 was the developer, Epson 4490 the scanner. I'm pretty excited about all the cables on the bridge.

I really like that too Jussi, I have been planning to buy a Nikon 35mm body for a while because I really love the Nikkor 24 and 3.5/55 Macro, but I have EOS adapters on them both and use them with my 35mm EOS. My PC died and I had to get a new one so my pics are on the old one but somewhere I have scans of some BW films shots with my Nikkor 24, I'll try to find them.

I have an N.C version, and an AIS version, I'm not sure if my NEX-7 out resolves the N.C version, as the last few times I tried it I was disappointed with the results, the images seemed soft to me, I really liked the lens on my 1DIII.

I've only had the AIS a short while and have had it out once, but results looked sharp in camera, I've not had the chance to review them yet.

Where did you take that?

Thanks again.
I took some images up at Rollands Plains where the river is just a 20metre wide brook.
Actually, I have just noticed that this image has some tripod shake as there is a softness to the hard points - rocks etc.
I'll have to go back and re-shoot.
A good excuse to get out on the river again Very Happy
