I just won this mystery auction:

Click here to see on Ebay then click "see original listing"

It's not an especially nice lens, but then it was inexpensive. If it's all scratched I can use it for parts. I need the parts.

Thing is, I don't know what I bought. Confused

Here is my take, which obviously could be in error:

Looks to me like a T4 or TX, f2.5 clearly, of unknown (to me) focal length. The mount adapter appears to be Konica AR but that's a pure, unvarnished, guess! Focal length seems like it could be 28 or 35 or even 24 (I'm not that lucky, though! Very Happy )

If anyone recognizes this lens I'd certainly appreciate hearing your thoughts as to what it is!! And I'd especially be interested in your thinking as to its focal length!

Once the lens arrives I will post here as to what it actually is and whether its condition is good or horrid.

Vivitar TX for sure, 28mm or 35mm

Looks like Canon mount to me

I would have guessed that to be M42.

Since the last measure before infinity is 5 meters (5,000 mm), 5,000mm/200 = 25mm So the focal length is probably 28mm because infinity will be the focal length X 200.

What Luis said, except, Konica Auto Reflex mount.

Thanks, fellows! I appreciate learning your opinions.

After my own further efforts, I'm also leaning toward it being a 28mm. On the mount: I certainly hope David is correct, but I'm not customarily that lucky!! Laughing

Well, now it remains only to await delivery, likely some day next week with a bit of good fortune. We shall see what we shall see. I will post the outcome, good or bad . . . . . . . . . or ugly! Smile

The rear cap is the same as my Konica lenses caps.

You know by Jove, it does appear closely to resemble that 35mm, just as WolverineX points out! Son of a gun.

One thing I picked up on early was the small circular "o" markings above each of the f16 aperture settings, both sides. That lens in WolverineX's post has those same "o" markings.

If it turns out to be a 35mm I will be happy. Very Happy

This, and other aspects of the lens as well, shall be revealed in the fullness of time . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . provided the seller ships, of course. Wink

28mm/2.5 of the same era has also that circle above f16 but what makes your lens a 35mm is that last focusing distance marking before infinity is 15ft while on 28mm is 10ft

Here is the update I promised earlier to post when information became available:

My lens arrived and I'm very pleased. It's a home run.

WolverineX was spot on regarding the focal length. It's a 35mm lens.

"37" leading the S/N points to Tokina origins.

The mount is a TX mount exactly as luisalegria supposed.

And as several of us believed might be the case, the included adapter is indeed a K/AR adapter.

It's a really nice lens, clean, beautiful, and in good working order; a keeper for sure (I don't sell lenses anyway).

We all need a winner every now and then to keep us going. This will be mine for a while. Very Happy
