I purchased these lens a little while back along with a very nice looking Praktica MTL3. I was initially attracted by the look of the zebra Sankor and when I read on the forum that it was a good lens I bought it. It seems alright to me although the preset ring doesn't seem to work.
I am still trying to form an opinion on the Soligar. I have a harder time with wider angle lenses, because evreything looks so small! It would be easier to test if I could get closer to the subject with this lens. Also infinity focus doesn't seem to match the infinity symbol on the lens. If anyone has any advise I would appreciate it.
Thank you.
Here is the photo of the Sankor and some unedited photos.

I have the exact same Soligor 35 / 3.5, and being honest - I can't seem to find any sharpness - but that could be my copy of the lens. It probably is, your pictures look a lot sharper than mine from this lens.

I've got a few of this series of 'chrome eared' Soligors and the others are good, which makes me think mine is faulty.

I always thought the best test of a wide angle lens was at infinity.
Especially in the corners.
Thats where the quality differences seem to show.

Bad infinity setting is very common. It may be the reason some lenses seem bad, when they may not be.
Some lenses are easily adjusted, some not.
Just today I found that a 400mm lens I just got doesn't get to infinity. I fixed this, temporarily, by removing the T-mount and partly screwing it right into my M42 adapter (not tightly). Instant fix. I will have to play with the focus sleeve adjustment for a permanent fix though.
