I bought this camera with a Seagull-610 f1,8/50mm lens today. The camera and the lens is nothing special. Managed to find out some info bout it online however the battery use is a real mystery. When I saw that the camera I assumed that the batteries in it were used to power a TTL light meter, however when I put batteries nothing happens. The shutter works on full mechanical mode, no led indicators, no needle-point movement inside the viewfinder, nothing. So why does the camera need batteries if they do not do anything ?

Also does anyone have the lens ? If so how well does it perform compared with the Milnolta MD f1,7/50mm ?
