50mm f1.4 wide open on all set at infinity,focusing with Helicoid,cropped to finish print size PP for contrast adjusted in ACR.

Very good, I love number 3 with the soft colours and perfectly judged exposure for the backlight.

Is the helicoid a 2x converter with the glass removed ?

No Lloydy,it was not chinese cheap one, my topic header states which one ,I tried this combo to see what results I got and to be honest I was gobsmacked having sold all my expensive FD Professional cameras I have 4 or 5 really good lenses left but response to selling has been ludicrous so was trying other uses for them,thanks for your kind response.Regards

Ah right, when you described it as a 'helicoid' I thought it was one that had been converted to a straight helicoid by taking the glass out. I've got one of these Teleplus MC7 in FD mount and I don't think I've used it for about 20 years. Perhaps it needs to see some action?

Sure,just slap a fast lens on as well(so far only tried 50-1.4) and play alternates with lens & converter re focus . Will look forward to seeing your pics and perhaps we can learn from each other.I converted one to B/W

Hi Dave, just been viewing some of your photo's flickr + other site,Ah! England what a great place for photographers especially for me as I shoot nothing but macro flora,I am an ex -pat., been in Canada 43 years this March,I am right on Canadian Rockies doorstep,I look out my window and there they are,nice in July up in the alpine meadows which is carpeted with wild flowers of every kind.but we do not get all the antique metal stuff to shoot,anything over 50-60 years is a rare find & mainly agricultural machinery. Your pics are very good and enjoyed looking at them, personally I do not post to online sights but am starting to post the odd one on MFlenses.
