I put this nice lens on macro tubes to see what I can possibly get. The lens performed better than I did Wink

Nice work overall, I doubt I can ever make better, I suggest to try focus stacking and different light than simple flash.

What do you mean by simple flash? Can you explain a bit?

I think you did use built-in camera flash or external flash , but wasn't use a reflector tube what is help do direct light to subject and make it to softer. Take a research on this forum , member Renseh posts shows many stunning macro shoots, in one of them his posts he did introduce his tools in details. Basically he made a tube from cardboard and put it on camera built in pop-up flash , tube was covered inside with aluminium foil to reflect light well and tube was little shorter only than camera+lens length.

I got myself a home-made diffuser for the built-in flash, but didn't take it this time. The light was as I got it outside today.
Next time I will try to get more control of it. Thanks for the hints Smile

Oh, c'mon, focus stacking takes time and when you're photographing a moving live insect and swaying foliage outside its impossible. I thought the same thing but immediately realised it probably wouldn't have been possible.

A smaller aperture would have been better f16 or something if it were possible.
