Hi,

Have a quick question and looking for the suggestion Smile

Currently I put my hands on a used mark 2 previously ive been using Sony with m42 ring and few lenses (58mm and 135mm Helios)
Would like to use these on a canon but i read some things about mirror hitting these two lenses, is this true? I need solid answer here don't want to break 5d Razz

And a suggestion about nice m42 wide lens and macro lens (1:1 would be nice)

Best Regads!

The Helios 135mm is fine on the 5D Mark II (I presume this is the camera you are talking about). The Helios 58mm is known as the 44, 44-2, 44-3, 44M, 44M-4 etc. Some hit the mirror and some don't! The problem is only obvious at infinity focus, and you are unlikely to damage your camera. Firstly, make sure you have a good quality adapter that isn't too thin. I've had most problems with Helios 44-2, but hopefully others can provide more information.

Hi,

Thank you for your fast response ManualFocus-G, would you be able to advice what sort of ring I shall look for on eBay?

"Firstly, make sure you have a good quality adapter that isn't too thin."

By saying that did you mean: difference between normal silver/black adapter ring and tube style adapter ring?

Kind Regards
