This morning I had the opportunety to buy a Vivitar Series 1 35-85mm f/2.8 Variable focus with Nikon mount. I have no experience with Vivitar lenses. I have been told it was made by Kiron. I could get it for 25 Eur. However, I noticed a scratch (4mm) on the front element of the lens. It also had the usual specks of dust in it. Cosmetics were OK. I finally decided not to buy this lens. Was this a mistake? Has someone any experience with this lens?

25 EUR is a good price for this lens in this condition. While optically it's nothing special by today's standards, it's an interesting collectors' item.

+1 at 85mm pretty good I did like mine , 35mm so so, it has typical Series 1 color rendering ,visible different than other lenses may you will like it much , may not. I sold mine after test.
