Taken this morning through the backdoor window, of a juvenile satin bower bird feeding on weeds and grass and trying to get the cat food as well.I am amazed at the amount of wildlife that come up to the back door trying to get the cat food. Laughing
The cat image was taken at the front door...Phew!! no Bird, Cat confrontations
1)

2) This is a different bower bird ,it does not have the very bright eyes so i am guessing it may be younger.

I'm so jealous you get the Satin Bowerbirds over east. We don't get them in Perth Sad

That eye is pretty amazing. Great photo.

They must be seasonal, as this time last year they were here but left during spring/summer.I never noticed the eye when they were running around feeding, it's only when I took the photo last year that I noticed it.Then of course I had to Google to find out what Bird they were Cool It's great they came back.

Just from my short time watching them, they almost have a "mimicking call" of other birds mixed in with their own call. They are very fast and agile I have never seen a bird that eats as much grass and weeds as this one.
They are about the size of a pigeon.

When I researched, I didn't think there was to much difference...other than the A has a slightly better reputation.. Smile I did not know that about the mount...many thanks for posting that link.
