This one looks futuristic because it is enlarger lens with built in color correction (quite unique property in the world of enlarging lenses). Looking at series I see that proper lens hood is a must. |

The Vega-22UC has this feature too :

But I didn't have time to test it yet properly _________________ Pierre

Nearly bought this lens a while ago.
Except lowish contrast (which might be imroved a lot with a tight hood) and cold colors it looks good imho.
It might get really crispy with a good hood.

Just to add to ForenSeil’s post, the text below is my rough translation of the relevant article on Polish Wiki about this lens:
==========================================
Janpol Color is an enlarger lens with built-in filters for color correction, manufactured by Warszawskie Zakłady Foto-Optyczne [Warsaw Photo-Optical Works – WZFO] in the mid 1960s.
It’s a Tessar-type, four element optical design that enables a good correction of chromatic aberration.
The first production run of these lenses were marketed under the name Jantar Color. It was manufactured in two versions – 55mm and 80mm, both with brightness of f5.6, closing down to f16.
Its patent-protected innovative technical solution (Polish patent No. 42618) consisted in placing inside the lens two mobile color filters which [could be regulated] by means of two dials with a percentage scale on either side of the lens. The scales were lit by means of rigid retractable optical conduit made of Plexiglas. The two dials shifted two frame assemblies with glass filters of relevant colors, causing the light of the enlarger to become colored at the lens’ focal point.
