Kodak 5222 (Double-X)

I developed my Kodak Double-X test roll today. It's still drying, but I took a look at the results and they seem promising.

I developed it in D-76 1+1 for 9:30 (maybe 10) with a developer exchange at the mid-point.

I shot the roll using sunny 16. I'll scan and align the photos with the settings tonight. Here's the table:

Each exposure was in full sun at F16. When the shots are scanned, I'll upload them here and next to the corresponding shutter speed.

To my eyes, images 5, 6, and 7 (1/125th, 1/180th, and 1/250th) look the best (slight preference for 6 -- 1/180th.) I think shooting this outside in the ISO 125 to ISO 250 range is probably ideal.

I admit, though, I'm impressed by the level of image data it recorded even when vastly under exposed. If this is an ISO 180 film, let's say, and I shot it as though it was ISO 2,000, one could rightly expect much less image information than this film recorded. So even though the dynamic range seems to be about six stops or so, the usable latitude seems much greater than with other films.

In short, I think I'm going to love it.

Probably best B&W film what available today, I think your test subject selection didn't help to love this film , this scenery is very hard to print film. Stones, cars, old wood will be lot better choice to get followers.

I think you need to try different developer dilution or time or something because these results look poor to me, sorry to say.
