I know people on this forum consider all Hexanon lenses to be 'good' but given the choice between a 1.8/50 (later version with knurled rubber focusing ring) and 1.8/52 (all metal version), which would you choose? _________________ "I've got a Nikon camera, I like to take a photograph" - Paul Simon |

1,8/52 has more neutral contrast. The difference between 50 and 52 mm is minimal.
The best price does the difference to me. |

Being respectful of the choice you offered, and limiting myself to that choice only:
I would choose whichever lens has the better coatings. Oftentimes (not always) this means choosing the newer lens. |

In others choice, the mine. I prefer the lens with more resolution power.
Can add contrast with PP, less affectation of the image quality than adding sharpness, I guess. _________________ Los espejos son abominables, pues sin coito aumentan la cantidad de hombres. J. L. Borges |
