I recently purchased an Exakta to Canon eos adapter.
link here:http://www.ebay.com/itm/120931329370?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649

I also bought some Exakta mount lens as a(hopefully) less expensive alternative to M42 mount lenses.
I got a Flektagon 2.8/35 lens $33, a Sonnar 4/135 $47, and a Pentacon 2.8/100 $20.
I removed the arm from the Flektagon. The Flektagon's focus was very stiff. It hasn't been used for ten years.
If anyone can tell me how to test these to see if they reach infinity that would be appreciated.

Every shot looks soft to me.

Set up on a tripod, turn on Live View, enlarge the view to the max, open the aperture all the way, and try to focus on a far away object.

For my Flek 35/2.8 infinity is only a dozen or so meters. From your samples it looks OK, i.e. the roofs of the far away houses look fine. A 35 mm lens at f/8 has a gigantic DoF and will be pretty forgiving.

The Sonnar will be more demanding if infinity isn't quite perfect. On the other hand you're less likely to want infinity on a 135mm.

That's some nice glass, enjoy!

Thanks,....well back to the old drawing board. I'll try to take some better shots. Perhaps too wide open. The sun was coming in and out
from the clouds.

Another question I have...
I removed the arm from the Flektagon in order to use it with the adapter. Now there is a hole where the arm used to go. Does anyone have any idea or experience for fixing it (covering the hole)?

A bendable thin black plastic cut and then a lighter to soften it(use caution here), shape it to fit then epoxy it on.

Thanks. I have some thin cylinder shaped aluminum containers around. Do you thing if I sawed off a piece of that I could glue it on?
Could that also be a solution?
