I'm looking for a good 1.4x or 1.5x teleconverter for Canon FD mount. I ran across this Soligor on eBay:

Just curious if anyone here has used the Soligor 1.5x?

I own a Canon Extender 1.4x and a Vivitar 1.5x, but I don't want to use either for this project I have in mind -- I need both just as they are. The project is to fabricate a FD-to-EOS lens mount adapter from a 1.4x or 1.5x teleconverter. The reason for this is because of the way both of my FD-EOS adapters behave with fast lenses. One is a Bower brand and the other is a Fotodiox. The Bower shows severe ghosting flare with fast lenses wide open, and it isn't entirely eliminated until about f/3.5. The Fotodiox, which was billed as having eliminated this problem, handles the flare better, but it is still there and the images are still unusable when shooting with fast lenses wide open.

However, this same problem doesn't exist with 1.4x or 1.5x teleconverters. Hence my desire to fabricate an adapter from the short TC. I found a website where a fellow used a Canon 1.4x as the adapter:

But I'd rather use a good aftermarket one. Seems like the conversion will be simpler than the above example as well, based on the conversions I've seen on the net.

So anyway, now you know what I've got in mind, and now you know why I'd like to find out more about that Soligor TC before I pull the trigger on the auction. Any other recommendations? Got one you would be willing to part with for a reasonable sum?
