The lens that came with that odd Canon adapter...

This is a Tessar design. A tad soft wide open (no sharpening or adjustments):

Nice rendering, perhaps a bit softer than the normal Tessar type.

Stopped down to f8:

crop: (the forum seems to be resizing my images)

I think this was from the last generation of Schacht lenses. The barrel design is a bit over complicated and includes two sets of helicals, although you still have to turn the focus ring nearly 360 degress from stop to stop.

Probably going to sell because I want a version with an automatic aperture. I've seen several of these Travenars on ebay last year, and all of them seem to have had the automatic aperture mech removed, I'm starting to think that maybe the factory just sent them out that way. The earlier barrel versions all seem to have automatic or semi-automatic diaphragms. I thought about keeping it just for digital, but I prefer to have lenses I can use on both film or digital bodies.

Making the crop smaller so that it doesn't get resized.

Nice and sharp at f8.

Nice OOF areas too.

I liked the bokeh in the first leaf photo.

It looks a bit less sharp and lower contrast than a CZJ Tessar. How is the glass - any haze etc?

No haze. Looking closely at it I noticed there are some very tiny bright spots all over the rear element. I'm not sure what that could be, coating damage? There is also a mark on the coating on the front. I haven't even tried cleaning the glass yet so I'll see if it goes away in a bit.
