Hello!

I found this lens today and I could buy it for about 40 Euros.
I didn't find any information about this lens!
Is it a rare lens or it is not popular because of its poor quality?

Every advice is welcome for me, thanks!

Hmmm?.....very interesting.....aremac is camera spelled backwards. Maybe rare but not
valuable and I think that it may be a common lens with a trade name on it.

Thank you iangreenhalgh1, WolverineX, gmonkman1 & Attila!

Your opinions are very valuable for me as a newbie in that field!
There are some very interesting lenses in the local markets from time to time, so I need to keep a good look-out Wink

A short time ago I found a very good Variogon 18-90mm, but it was a motorized one with a C-mount, so I took it almost for free!
I am going to remove the motors (when I have some more time) and I am looking forward to testing it without motors!

Thanks again and good luck!

I am doing that every time I find something interesting, but some lenses are rare or not so popular (like this one).
So, thank you for your advices!

As Eastern European friend keep your eyes open on Russian and East Germans items, for your 40 EUR you can buy Meyer, Pentacon, Carl Zeiss Jena or Jupiter lenses all are good enough to every occasion and available plenty in your country. Forget all not well known Japanese brands.

The Meyer/Pentacon 2.8/135 is excellent, worth having for sure.

Carl Zeiss Jena Sonnar 4/135 is another one to look out for, a little bit cheaper than the later 3.5 version and I prefer it.

Russian copies of the Sonnar are excellent, I've had several and they can be every bit as good as the CZJ original. In fact, I had a Jupiter-11A 4/135 that was better than my CZJ Sonnar 3.5/135.

Other Russian Sonnar 135 copies are the Jupiter-37 and Tair-37, these are both later models and usually multicoated.

You are right Attila,
Many people in my country do not realize what treasures they have! Some of the lenses I have are very good examples for that!
I found a 1000mm MTO (mirror) in an excellent condition for a dime!
Some times I have to buy a broken camera with the only reason to have a good Hellios lens, because most of the people sell "A Camera" and they don't care that I need the lens only Wink
