I gave my last Canon A490 to a young girl beginning photography and got this to
replace it:

Canon A1200:

Has a 28mm-112mm zoom lens and just arrived today, few samples:

Zorki-6

and trying the fisheye mode:

Hope to try it some more this weekend. It also has a stealth mode with all sounds and
AF lamp shut off. This was a Canon factory refurb (came in their box) with manuals, software,
for $59, free shipping from Adorama. Takes two AA batteries, forgot to mention.

Canon is polishing the low end of their line. I also owned the A490 and was delighted by the macro capabilities.
I don't keep it anymore but in the case I need a replacement, I'll look for one like yours.
Enjoy it!
