try here: http://www.pentax-manuals.com/fujica/lenses/m42_lenses.htm

As far as I know they are all from good to excellent, considered their age.

The Fujinon m42 group on Flickr is a good place to start too: http://www.flickr.com/groups/m42_fujinon/

I have the EBC 55MM 1.8 and the EBC 135MM 2.5, both excellent lens.

If I had to pick a must have it`s the 135mm 2.5, it`s not so common though. Great colours and contrast, sharpish even from wide open, an excellent portrait lens and one I wouldn`t part with.

How common are short zooms for M42 mounts? I've had a Makinon 28-80 and a Fujinon Z 43-75, which I still have (illus). The Makinon was stolen shortly after I acquired it and I've used the Fuji since that time, it's a good zoom, but without a `wide' end, 43mm is `standard lens' really.

Funny little lens these, very good tho'. Have only seen one other and that is on here in `finished transactions'. It's very good ergonomically, the single grip enables easy manipulation with both focus and zoom with it's unique tactile separation of the two movements, this without one movement being `stiff', like on my Tamron. It is quite compact too, but if it had a wider end it might have added more bulk to the design.
Vivitar made a very nice super zoom 28-210, I had that on my OM40, it would be super to have one in M42 too. It made a bulky outfit to carry about and suffered from not having a zoom lock, in reality a necessity for a zoom with such an extension. Tamron did a 28-80 that sits on my Kinon/Minolta (now `no-named!). That does have a zoom lock thankfully. That would convert to M42 if I could find a Tamron Adaptall2 for M42 auto iris (diaphragm pin)?? Anyone out there??

Did they not offer an EBC version of the 2.2/55?

Interesting ... thanks for the scans.

I've listed the Fujinon lenses I believe to actually exist in M42 on the front page of flickr group M42 Fujinon lenses. I am not fully sure about all of the zoom lenses, but at least the primes listed all exist.

Note, however, that there are many versions of some of the lenses (e.g., at least 4 different 50mm f/1.4's and 55mm f/1.8's, at least 2 different 55mm f/2.2, 135mm f/3.5, 28mm f/3.5, 200mm f/4.5, etc)… It's very hard to know what versions exist, since some of them may be very rare—the 50mm f/1.4 and 55mm f/1.8 are the most common lenses and there I can confirm at least 4 different variants to exist, but could be that these same variants exist for other lenses as well, but the lenses themselves are so rare that only the most common 1 or 2 variants ever pop up for sale.

Old advertising material is not fully reliable, either, since it always displays only one moment's line-up and may include some planned lenses that never come true (e.g., the 50mm f/1.2 and 45mm f/2.8 shown in the scans above do not exist in M42, AFAIK—if you can find one, I would pay a lot for them =).

Yes, I'm almost certain that the 55mm f/2.2 is not available in EBC—even Fuji's brochures list it as non-EBC in a time with almost all other lenses being EBC.

Note, though, that there are two different versions of the non-EBC 55mm f/2.2; one is slightly longer, easiest to see by looking at size of focusing ring grip.

I found nothing about 45/2.8, I suppose there is no such type of Fujinon lens in any mount... am I right???

Defnitely no x-mount 45.

I've never seen a 45mm f/2.8 Fujinon in any interchangeable mount, no… Seems that they cancelled the design quite late, since the scans above even list the weight and other detailed specs for the lens.

There are a couple of old Fujica rangefinders with a fixed 45mm f/2.8 Fujinon lens, though, but they are from a different era and for a different register so there is almost certainly no relation to the planned M42 lens.
