Condition is on the rough side, but deal breaker is it
won't focus to infinity:

above was @ f16

close focus is 0.45M or 18" is over three feet, instead:

wide open

So will be sending this back to seller...

so take it apart and fix infinity? I mean. Did it cost much?

Which version? R(metal focus ring) or RE(Rubber focus ring)?
It may have been adjusted for a too thin of an adapter at some point, as the 2nd pic does show it can be sharp.

sorry about that Bill.
though the last pic has some sharpness I'd say that it shows that there is more wrong than just infinity focus, sharpness drops too fast away from the very center and the borders look too awful. Possibly the lens had been opened and one lens element installed the wrong way around?

Andreas, yes, the last shot I found to be most revealing. This lens has the rubberized focus ring, all black.
I've already contacted the seller to return this as I think if I got into it, would have a $90 paperweight...in
pieces. Laughing I'll keep looking, one of these days...

Someone has tampered with the optics for sure, cleaned it maybe and re-assembled it incorrectly.

Sorry Bill, but better return it.

I have some Topcor lenses if you are still interested. Some need cleaning, but all are cheap. Send me a note if you'd like to know more.

Patrick, yes, that it close-focuses to 18" is the icing on the cake, too. On the NEX, places
it in macro country as well.
