Very nice pastel colours which compliment the "not very sharp" shots.

I wonder if the light reflecting from the frost makes it difficult to focus or get a sharp shot? Perhaps I needed to close the aperture more?

Try both use smaller aperture and flash, flash give extra crystal effect and help to improve sharpness, smaller aperture never harm, typical mistake when people shoot everything with large aperture.

Thanks Attila! Often I shoot with the aperture too open.
By the way, do you know a place I can buy lighter fluid in Budapest? I want to loosen op the focus ring on a couple lenses I have.

IMO a close up has to be very sharp (as what's the point of doing a close up Wink ) but the farm house could be like a water colour painting if you want.
