I get this using a Porst 55/1.2 on my 5D (trough BigIs adapter) :

I already shaved the lever protection on the lens and bent the lever, nothing is "higher" than the baffer at the rear. Does anyone have an idea of what cause me these two irregular black bands ?

can you post the photos of your lens so we can see it's condition?

What happens when you stop the lens down - does it get worse? And when you open the lens right up it reduces but doesn't quite go away?
I have MF lenses which when stopped down give me a shadow along one or both opposite edges and whilst I've learned to live with it I haven't spent a lot of time trying to understand the exact cause.

Mirror not fully up also gives band.

+1

Looks like the mirror stops at upper 1/3 of mirror move.. and goes down after touching the rear.
The mirror doesnt hang, but stops on the rear and after that, he returns to his starting position. So its sounds like everything is ok.. but it is'nt.

Try to visualize trough the front of the lens, actuate with an open aperture and a long shutter speed.. lets say 1 sec. !

Cheers
Henry

I am quite sure this should be removed too.

That's what I've done yesterday and it's okay ! Very Happy If I knew I had to remove this, I would not have shaved it...
