This is the first modern manual lens I know of.
Olympus is calling it "Caps Lens", because the tiny size and the fact that the aperture handle can physically fully close the lens like a cap. Price: 65€ postage included.

I've just tested it on the Lumix GF1.
Fully manual lens, no contacts.
The aperture has one stop at infinity, another one at the hyperfocal and another one at closeup (30cm).
My first test done at ISO400, home light. I had to apply some noise reduction because the noisy GF1 sensor, but otherwise the colours and the sharpness are really good.

100% crop of the above one:

My first impression is very good. Small in size, good for the Mediterranean light Wink

Will be trying it further at sunight tomorrow.

Jes.

So around £6, the same as a quality lens cap? Wouldn't it be as well just boring a hole in said lens cap? Wink

IQ looks imho pretty good for an 65 bucks wide angle lens. Less than 1/10 of the price of an Zeiss Hologon 16/8 Wink Wink Wink

I can see some distortion and mild CAs but your results are looking very usable!

Nice find!

No aperture control? Seems like an odd way to save on production cost..

Center is supposed to be sharp, corner are mushy I read. It's a simple triplet design, so no wonder.
