Both of these lenses are expensive fast 28mm optics with a floating element for good close focus abilities. I only have the Hexanon so I can't compare them myself but how would you rate the two against each other. Is one of them better than the other, or are they just different. Or are they actually very close in performance? Which one would you choose. At the moment the "Hollywood" seems to be a bit more expensive but that could change.

I don't know any who has both.

Seems a bit pointless to have both, I'm sure either is all the 28mm lens you will ever need.

I'm sure of that too. I just wonder if the Zeiss has better microcontrast and warmer colours and if the Hexanon is sharper and focuses closer etc. There has to be some minor differences, maybe one lens is better for a certain type of applications.

I expect technique and PP can remove any differences.

FWIW, Pentax also made a 28/2 lens, the smcK 28mm/f2.0 with floating element(s). I own one and its an excellent lens.

Thank you, I did not know that.

Considering what the others said, I would pick the one with broader mount compatibility. I would consider the Nikon 28 f2 ai/ai-s too.

The Konica unfortunately is scarce, and that affects the price, I'm not saying that it's a bad lens, just that some collectors want it.
