Quick question:
I've been on the lookout for the dedicated hood for my Pentax K 28 but nothing seems to crop up. I found this nice-looking hood for Konica Hexanon 24/28 lenses, I like this square clamp on design. Can anyone confirm what size filter ring this fits? I need 52mm. Quick please - it goes in under 3 hours.

skida, that's a really helpful answer - many thanks. That looks a lovely lens - I might have even bought the lens to fit the hood but this one is a bit out of my budget. Besides, I've already got the Nikkor 24. It has a 52mm screw-in hood and I can use that on the Pentax at a pinch. _________________ Peter - Moderator |

nevermind, I just noticed you mentioned the one you wanted to buy was a clamp on, not a screw in hood. _________________ ===========

It's a good thought though. That might well work OK with a clamp-on type hood. I've got the clamp-on square hood for the S-M-C Takumar 28, but that's only 49mm, which is a shame. I'll keep looking. _________________ Peter - Moderator |

Wow, Tony, that's a very kind offer, very many thanks. What a fantastic group of people on this forum!
I'd really prefer a 52mm hood if I can find one, so I'm going to turn you down this time and carry on looking. Of course, if you were to throw in the lens as well I might reconsider! _________________ Peter - Moderator |

the 24/28 all metal konica hood is not so good for 28 mm than for the 24mm lens.
And it's better for the old design 7 elements 28 than for the newer 5 elements one.
Good lens protection. |

That's a good thought too, thanks. I have the 52mm screw-in metal hood for the Minolta MC 2.8/35 which would fit. But I'll be using the lens on FF film cameras as well, so I will need the proper 28 hood. _________________ Peter - Moderator |
