WKM - Wanna know more about Industar 24M

Grabbing for a 100mm lens or so, i crossed the path of this lens which I could not find any available samples or information about its performance and character. If anyone has some useful info, please post here. I'm actualy looking for the M42 version, not the Moskva, ok?

Thanks,

Renato

There is no m42 version. There's only the zm39.

It's a good lens but I have not used my copy enough to comment generally on its character. Seems decently sharp at 3.5 though. Contrast is on the low side. I'll take some more tomorrow if you're interested.

Here's 1 edited sample from a while back. I have to find my others:

Yes, you've got it: the lens I saw was a ZM39 with a M42 adapter on it.
And yes, if you have time to this, I'll be glad, and thank you for the initiative.

I saw 1 (one) photo taken with this lens and became very interested in it. But it can be also a lucky shot with a common glass, so, ask don't huts,

Thanks,

Renato

Here are the samples as promised. They are unedited, just converted to jpegs and resized. All at f3.5 (wide-open). Camera was Sony a850. I tried to get the purple flowers at a variety of distances to show the range of bokeh.

themoleman342,

This samples shows clearly the great lens it is, specially the two last shots. As you sad, it's not a ultra contrasty lens, and as far as I can observe, an average sharpness lens too, but bokeh, color rendering, and DOF makes this lens a very well balanced one, with something remembering old color film, as I like.
If I'm not asking too much, when you have time for this, of course, could you please post some photos of the lens itself?
One time more, thank you very much for your kindly help with this shots.
I was thinking about how pricey is a copy like this in these days, but still affordable, I guess, perhaps because the lak of information available at the Internet about it; and with so few copies available around, it's somewhat expected that in the future it's price will rise,

Cheers,

Renato

There are? I never seen or heard of different versions. All of the Industar 24Ms for zm39 have pre-series serials.

My bad, I'm confusing the Industar 26M and the Mir 24M and this lens.... I hate Russian naming standards, they're all over the place... Too much Vodka? LoL
Which is why I like to see a pic of the lens, so I have an idea what it looks like, at least they all look relatively different.
Thanks for posting the pic. Smile
