I remember someone talked about it here. I can't find any references. I did find Sigma YS lens branded SUN here http://www.hood.de/angebot/40334891/sun-2-8-28-ys-fuer-m42-mit-a-m-umschaltung.htm
And that is all.

At this year's Photokina this interchangeable mount system got mentioned in Sigma's presentation ... apparently they forgot to patent it back then ... so theoretically every company was free to copy it then. |

Sun lenses were made with YS mounts at one time. These are certainly Sun and not rebranded Sigma as theyinclude types that were distinctivelySun such as their zooms.
Sigma types of this perod are known and they are not similar to those of Sun. _________________ I like Pentax DSLR's, Exaktas, M42 bodies of all kinds, strange and cheap Japanese lenses, and am dabbling in medium format/Speed Graphic work. |

I was hoping there is more to the story. These were such zooms for instance:
Sun Zoom Macro YS 3.5/38-90mm
Sun Zoom YS 4/70-210mm
Sun Zoom YS 4.5/85-210mm
Sun Zoom Macro 4/80-240 _________________ ---------------------------------

You can add the 60-135, this was also available with YS-mount.
The others you list were the very distinctive "space age" line of Sun zooms.
They are seen (most of them) with both YS and fixed mounts. I have also seen the 60-135, 70-210 and 85-210 in distributors brands.
Interestingly Topcon sold the 85-210 as a Topcor. Weird but true. _________________ I like Pentax DSLR's, Exaktas, M42 bodies of all kinds, strange and cheap Japanese lenses, and am dabbling in medium format/Speed Graphic work. |
