Ex,in fact I'd like to use better film but these are hard days for film users as we all know , and here even more , it's the only one I can buy (cheap , fast and fresh) at local store. My plan to build a little stock of good films hurted these last years the LBA and was posponed by that disease Laughing Now , that you touched the issue , let's move at Adapters, Films etc and start a thread on it

Others will not better I believe it, on C41 rather developing scanning important than film type itself.

...but you were insulting your excellent camera and lens....... using that film. Wink

Film only a few years ago was cheap on the bay, I bought in bulk a total of 120 rolls of VG 35mm film and now it's all gone...so I keep superia 200 and Reala for the more important times and use Agfa Vista (made by Fuji and probably the cheap C200) for £1....for general use. Someone in mainland Europe is getting theirs (maybe the same) for 1 euro a roll.

Haven't seen at 1 euro /roll on net or shops where I've looked ,but it's promising .Maybe I'll have to dig more. Or maybe I'll need a little help from my friends ... Laughing

Can be true at times and depends on the subject and I suppose an expert in Photoshop can turn a film shot into anything..... but Kodak color plus and Fuji C200 has something lacking compared to Superia 200 or Reala or Kodak gold (these I know well) but there are supporters of Ferrania (and others) that probably could add the difference as well.

I used to get good results on Kodak Pro 100 when it was available . I liked Superia , but didn't shot much with it Maybe it's time to come back

I think that Kodak Gold 100 and 200 also gives reliable color gamuts.

Yep, Excalibur is right , I had a hard time correcting color cast in my last scans of Color Plus (these ones included) , even if the film is fresh (until 2014) .

then seemed to me good colors ,contrast and grain. It wasn't cheap , so I preferred C200 instead

Thanks Teo, I have a few rolls of the fuji in the fridge from when it sold out cheaply recently... Very Happy. I had a look and I still have some expired kodak Gold 100 that Bill (katastrofo ) has used.

I've read that Australia is not very helpful for film users. Shocked

Yes, from what I am experiencing there are only a few places that do developing for a high price (mainly in the large cities)...but how well do they develop your film, well...that's anyone's guess until you use them. However I am fairly confidant there are still those dedicated few who develop their own film...its just not easy finding a business to do it,and do it well.
I can still buy rolls of Fuji film in 200 and 400 in one of the local supermarkets the other one stopped stocking film last year. Sad

Moira , I am guessing that we are going to end up with trying (at least) self developing . In my 80.000 people city there is only a lab doing film left .And they process only 135 C41.And promissed to me processing my future C41 APS that my Canon EOS IX will produce Cool Wink
No 6x6 ,no E6 . I the big universitary cultural town 250.000 people at 120 km from here there are a few , but still no E6 ,no 6x6 ! Only one spotted so far on net doing E6 and 6x6 in the capital at 500 km for 6-7 a roll + post fees .
We have to organise ourselves and try to do it !
My wife promissed me all the support : she sweared to throw me away from the apartment if I ever get with something like that in the bathroom . Well....I'll go to my mum ....Hard times !

I agree Teo,However with children still at home I don't think I will take on home development just yet.My husband wouldn't mind me giving it a try...which is really nice, he encourages me in my little hobby and puts up with my lens collection.

Chemicals tend to worry me a little and getting a totally dark environment may be another challenge....I have thought about it a lot but possible only for B&W film.

for me is going to be a time machine ...when I was 17 I used to develop and print BW for some years , before I left for university .
But I'll hold up for a while to finish my treatment , or at least the chemotherapy part of it , in february.
The chemicals have to be carefully manipulated (at least for me ,better latex gloves and Fpp2 mask won't hurt anyone ,even if most of photographers don't use either ). But with children in house , it's better to pospone . Total darkness only when rolling the film on the spool .Once fit in the develop tank , it's safe to open the light , and the rest is made like that .

I've seen some Ferrania Solaris film still good , I'd buy some , but don't know much about it .
Did someone used ? How do you feel about ?
