Hi all.

It seems that the best M42 to Nikon adapter with glass (for focus infinity) are the Kood and the Hama.
I've found a Kood on ebay : http://www.befr.ebay.be/itm/380429203349?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649

I've send a message to the seller :

The picture of the item doesn't show any mention of the brand KOOD at all like this one ( http://forum.mflenses.com/userpix/605_KOOD_1.jpg ) for example. Is it normal ? I don't want to buy a crappy china adapter with poor glass quality

He answered

This is a genuine Kood adapter. The latest batch of adapters do not have the Kood marking on them.

Can I trust him ? I don't see why the manufacturer has given his brand name on his product.

I've got 3 off ebay, all perform well. The quality suffers at the edges a bit but that disappears about 2 stops down. If your image is out of focus at the edges, ie full aperture portrait you won't notice much or any difference. I'm happy with mine. I'm sure I have some test shots, I'll look them up and post.

I obtained a Kood adapter from Speed Graphic. It look as as though they are still available - and at the same price as I paid a few years ago !

My adapter has "KOOD" and "M42/Nikon Japan" printed on it. However the "KOOD" is printed in a different typeface and with a heavier ink. I suspect that KOOD is not the original manufacturer but simply an agent. The adapter in the ebay listing looks exactly like mine - but without "KOOD".

I have published quite a few pictures on this site which demonstrate the use of the KOOD M42/Nikon adapter.

Some examples ...

... but there are others.
