After long waiting it's now in my hands and in good working condition.
Some time ago I saw one member Nesster pic taken with this camera and after that pic I wanted one Brownie for me too. First Ebay win was totally mess. Seller send me wrong camera and then didn't find the one I bought and then sent my money back. Then with an other try I bid and win this beautiful old lady.
This is the oldest camera I've hold in my hands (made around 1910) and first suprise for me was that it didn't have any front lens. Bare shutter leaves and the only lens itself is then inside the camera. It's also quite small and very light (made from wood).
It's shutter didn't work properly so I took it to the local exellent camera repair shop 'Mustonen ja Laine' and they did wonderfull work once again. I got this camera from them last friday.
Took some test pics at weekend to see how it works. It's 'composition cube' is so messy that you hardly see anything through it, so I shoot these mostly by guessing the framing. It's full aperture is about F8 and the time is about 1/50. It's focusing variations are 2.5m / 6m / 30m.
These test pics straight from the scanner (epson v600) witout any PP and the film was TriX 400.
(douple exposure test)

Interesting, these have a meniscus lens. The images have a unique look, thanks for sharing.
They are huge for a 120 camera, but I do have a hankering for a 116 sized one so I can use my 70mm bulk film in it. I think I'd have to replace the lens with a more modern one though _________________ I don't care who designed it, who made it or what country it comes from - I just enjoy using it! |

Thanks guys!
Lovely old folder camera. With the next film I have to tape it's back (some light leaks from right side).
And actually I think it's size is quite reasonable to carry with. It's dimensions are 17 x 8.5 x 4.5cm (6.6" x 3.3" x 1.75").
That first mistake camera that I got (don't know what Kodak folder it is) was huge. It's back says that it uses 122-film. After that, I was expecting that this Brownie could be nearly as big as that was, and I was really happy when this Brownie came and it was so much smaller than I was expecting after that other one.
Here's those two side by side

Thanks for your very kind words Nisseliten.
But have to say that if I ever catch some intresting moments together with this old camera lady, all thanks for those belongs just for her. Those kind are results from her wisdom and knowledge what all those years have added to her way to see the world. She knows what to do! ..and of course then, all the mistake shots are just mine stupid faults. _________________ 500px l ¿ .. ? l Jalbum |

I add here still few more pics from my next test ones with this old lady. I took these last weekend and scanned them now. It was taped from it's back side this time and now there wasn't any light leaks at any frame With these ones now some quick PP (curves and also some croppings for some). Film was again TriX-400.
Have to solve some kind view finder system for it, but other ways I'm really pleased for all the playing with her. With this our new friendship we've taken just our very few first steps together, but I love her already
and this was just test pic towards the sun which was just above the upper frame. No problem. It didn't make flares

..and Tony, you have really interesting Holga project! Please show us some pics about the mountains of central NY with it when it's ready for all that.
I've shot now 5 rolls with that 'sexy' Brownie and I've been using it mostly for douple exposures at 6x9 format (my Holga and Halina-Prefect are at 6x6 size for the same). I just love the suprises what the douples sometimes gives and the other thing with that is, that it also helps you to look around maybe a little bit different way. But most of all because it's just fun.
A few street test doubles with it (some places that don't exist anywhere in reality) Little PP for some. Film: TriX
..and I think that she still produces quite good images (especially with knowing her age) if you don't ruin them with playing around with those kind douples
