One of my favorite repasts back home in northern Idaho is smoked blueback or rainbow trout, and an
ice cold beer. Smile

Thanks for the memory jog, nice photos.

You can feel the atmosphere in the first shot, the women in the foreground pointing at what she wants just makes this shot.

Tony - Down the block from Russ and Daughters is Katz's Delicatessen, where one can get the best pastrami and corned beef... and where the line to get in snakes around the corner. I'm kind of proud of how this shot came out - basically all I had to do to the scan was spot away some dust and do a little sharpening.

another great shot!

oh yeah, i know the area well as it was my old stomping grounds for many years. just up the block is (or was when i was around) yonah shimmels knishery, best in the city as well. when i was younger those were the only three businesses there, except for the drug houses on rivington. much different now as gentrification marches on! maybe one day we can meet down there for a shoot and a couple beers at arlenes grocery!
