I took some photos while meeting with the previous owner of our new house. Canon T3 body. Sorry for the large size of the images.

#6 is very cute, do you have any focusing aid in your camera ?

Lovely pictures, but you have got lovely models as well. Very Happy

The Helios is a great lens, I'll never part with mine. Number 1 shot would benefit from a crop though, just above the wire and keep the flag in the middle. It's a terrific picture, the colours and contrast are very good for a difficult shot.

Thanks. I do not have any focusing aid, except that I bought an attachment(diopter?) to my viewfinder so I can see through it better without my glasses. I purchased that after I took these photos. I do have problems focusing properly especially for distant objects.

The cute girl is the daughter of the previous owner and she really started to ham it up when I started taking photos so it was fun. Fortunately her mother has photography as a hobby so she didn't mind.

Thanks, yes that crop would be an improvement.
I really enjoy using the Helios, but it is the only 50ish mm lens I have besides besides a Industar 50-A, which although it takes fine photos is a little tricky to use. I find the Helios is a good lens to keep on my camera most of the time.

Here one of the first photos I took of the flag trying to get the effect of the sun coming through it. This is very much cropped as I was standing further away. Taking the photos closer to the flag as is the above photo was an improvement.

even more cropped. Interesting, but too washed out.

kinda getting carried away. Embarassed Laughing
Here's the crop you suggested:

Take a research about split screen or at least focus confirmed adapter they are help a lot with manual focus lenses, personally I prefer split screen.

I was thinking of getting the split screen, do you think it would work on a Canon T3 which has a smaller viewfinder?

I think yes, not finder size dependent. I did use a lot in my Olympus E-1 had to focus wide open due get dark from f5.6 , but was very accurate tool. Light meter was effected had to compensate , not best convince, but sharp capture success ratio dramatically improved.

Yes the split screen will help a lot, more so with the rebels, their their focus screens are not optimized for manual focusing.

Nice images. I was hoping to see some swirling bokeh though.

You need a sensor clean looking at the 1st pic.

Okay, I will order one. Is it very difficult to install?

Ive never installed on on a rebel before so I don't know, I'm sure there are many how-too's out there.

Wonderful photos made by wonderful lens Smile

Regarding the split screen - not hard at all to install.

I ordered mine on ebay for ~25$ form Hong Kong, and installed it using instructions found on the web.

Took me about 30 minutes using the resource...

Please, tell us the year of the lens. Should be a useful date.
