Hello!

The internet isn't very helpfull on this one... or I am looking in the wrong places.....

I have the Canon DP 10 adapter, which is a tube with some lenses, and 2 adapters. One for slides, and one for 35mm film negatives. It is brandnew, and even the manual is in the box.
However: the manual states it was originally made for a Canon videocamera, the VC10, and there's no info whatsoever for the use of lightsource. It just says: tungsten or natural light.

I have it fitted on a 135mm lens, so I can copy the negative from the strip to the DSLR.

Now I wondered if there's anybody out there who has used this piece of equipment, and wants to share tips and tricks with me. What lightsource do you use, and what lens do you use?

Also: I use LR4, which is not able to convert negative images to positive. MS paint does have this function.... or is there a better alternative, preferably free, piece of software? PS is too expensive and to difficult imho......

Thanks al lot in advance!

Avonds!
Take a look at ImageMagick,
which might be able to assist you.

Thanks, there's some info that is useful!

Have you used ImageMagick to convert negatives?

No, I have not used ImageMagick for ages ... if my memory
is correct, you should run convert with the -negate flag.
This could however, still leave a colour cast to fix later.

How about The Gimp, then? Here are some interesting links for you:

Thank you for your input!

I am going to sell it, I got a great offer on a Minolta Dimage scanner yesterday, that might be a lot easier than the DP-10!
