Hi all - I just bought a bunch of Nex adapters on eBay from big_is. Everthing was good, no complaints for they price and buyer experience.

However, the only problem I have right now is the adapters (all of them Nex-M42, Nex-Pk, Nex-Nikon, etc...) allow focus past infinity. This is really annoying as I need to constantly zoom in to fine tune the focus even though I shoot landscape.

Can anyone recommend a seller or brand that have adpter with the right thickness that doesn't allow focus past infinity. I know I can also add shims to the adapter tp fix the issue but I want to get better adapters if they do exist.

If I remember well, someone wrote in a similar thread that fotga adapters were ok, but don't take this for sure, I may remember it wrong.

Yah I saw that one too but there are also people saying the Fotga don't fix the infinity issue. I guess I just need to try it on my own.

Hit or miss. Unless you are lucky you there is little chance. Get ready to shim. I bought a used NEXC3 for $250.00 and ended up spending more than that on my adapters. Rainbow imaging not reliable. Fotga adapters, locking pin slot way off. M42, silver ring with flange, too shiny and reflective inside and near useless. Konica adapters fiddly and frequently poor. Simpler mounts=better chance at success. Unless you are a shim-master or just plain lucky, forget about accurate infinity focus. I found only ONE Fotasy PK adapter that focused at infinity accurately. I'm sure now it was just a freak accident.

Most seller makes adapter to pass infinity, this is help to prevent buyer nagging lens not reach infinity... so hard to find accurate one. I have one for Konica NEX , maker is Fotassy.

My big_is adapters are the same. It's annoying at first but you soon learn the knack of turning the dial back a fraction. You could try putting a temporary mark on the distance scale on the lens at the correct infinity point if you're finding it difficult at first.

I just bought an EOS>NEX adapter from Kiron. I am not pleased at all. The lens just isn't tight. It wobbles on the EOS side.
Does anyone know of a real tight one?
Thanks.

I've got a Fotga for my Minolta MD lenses and it goes past infinity, I soon got used to it, and I'd rather it did that than not reach infinity.

I see the general consensus here is that "accpept and deal with it" Smile

Alright, I guess I will have to learn to deal with it. Thanks all for your advices.

By the way, yesterday I ordered 6 Fotga adapters, that makes a total of 16...I will soon have more adapters thans lenses Wink

I also lost count on adapters - nex, T2, tx, ad2, m42 ... lucky me I don't have m4/3.

Fotassy for hexanon is good.
I have several from fotodiox. They are good too, except for the olympus OM adapter, that have loose parts and I got lost the aperture stop pin inside the adapter. these stop at infinity.
Big_is adapters need to adjust bayonet flags to fit. I have 2, and feel a bit annoying about them. I need to adjust exact distances for all 3 flags to be sure the focus plan is flat, and they too pass infinity.

However I wont trust an adapter for infinity as I have mixed experiences with all of them.

You probably just made me buy 6 more adapters from Fotassy Wink

I personally did't find any issues with big_is adapters except for the past infinityt part.

I think they are great for the price. I sometimes wonder how they make money by selling adapter for $8 that includes shipping and Paypal fees. The margin must be really low.

The worse feeling as I use these adapters is:

The mount actually attaching by 3 tiny screws. The metal of the adapter is not as good, since screws just got loose.
Now, would you trust one of these adapter when holding the Zeiss 85/1.4?

I know what you mean. Well I always have my left hand holding the lens since I have no other choice if I want to focus Smile So I do trust my hand.

One more thing,
I have the fotodiox pro adapter for nikon. It has 6 screws, and metal springs on each of 3 bayonet flags.
I have use it with nikkor 180/2.8, 400/5.6. These lenses look funny on the nex Laughing
