Just had the opportunity to try this completely unknown (to me) lens. I am sure it is over 50 years old, and I believe it is a pre-cursor to the Tamron range. With the M42 mount, I put it on the Nex 5N and here are some quick samples:

Detail not bad:

Colour I like:

I like the portrait style as well:

and the OOF is creamy (which I like a lot):

All in all I am very satisfied with my gamble on this one - it cost me $5.

Seems to glow quite a bit, which gives the images a nice dreamy feel, I like it.

@Luis

Here is the lens. It has at least 16 blades, which I think accounts for the smooth OOF

Not one of the usual suspects.
This deserves a bit of a think.

Nice set of pictures and if it is glow that gives them that dreamy quality I'm all for it! Love the colours and it looks really sharp.

It looks a bit Trioplan-like. I'd say it's a keeper for sure.

Nice one, looks quite like the Prinzgalaxy 3.5/135mm I have. Might be from the same maker.

Interesting, I thought that Taika was made by Tamron, but Tamron not add in serial number the letter "M" (and Tokina also?)...

I think this might be the same as the Samuron lens that I gave to Ian the other day ? I couldn't get decent results from it, perhaps Ian will Wink
