Hello everyone,

I really like this lens bokeh. I think it's a manual lens, any idea of which one it could be? Thank you for your help!

Laughing anyone can say many lenses (or cameras) and who is going to disprove any of them.

Confused Ooookay, I assume this isn't a name that lens test, that you came across these images and like the OOF rendering...
It could help if we knew where the images came from.

To me it looks like a 50-85mm lens, Helios 40?

The images look like they have been heavily processed, which makes it even more difficult.

First one has bokeh a bit like a mirror lens.

The second one might also have a few donuts in the tree bark behind the lady's shoulder.

If the Mystery Lens is a mirror it's not a very long focal length, DOF is relatively thick.

I don't see any Mirror-(Donuts) or Helios/Biotar(Swirling) bokeh. It's only very wild.
The focal length is seems to be not that long and so the lens have to be fast. Looks more like 50mm max.

Looks imho about similar to the Contax G Planar T* 35/2 wide open Smile

(bad example is on crop)

Another good candidate might be the expensive Leica Summicron 35/2 in early versions

Where did you find the images? You might just be able to ask somebody what was used.

Or at least do you know age of the pics, camera or image files with some EXIF data?

Whatever it is, it makes it hard to concentrate on the subject of each photo because of the awful, distracting bokeh.

Always a matter of taste. I like the bokeh in the examples. Distracting yes, but it gives adds a "wow-factor".
I hope this is not going to be a debate on principles here again Wink

The first link shows some bokeh that is similar. (Hmm, not working right now)
I think it adds something different to the pictures, I wouldn't want it for every shot.

reminds me of some of the busier 2.8 50s... like a domiplan?

here is a shot I took with a m42 rikenon f2.8 55mm
I call it "angry" bokeh.

It could easily be AF lens like 1.8/50mm CANON.

I don't know any AF vesion of the Canon 50/1.8 but I think the bokeh of the Canon is much less distracting
