Yesterday I sold some old Nikon rubbish at my dear dealer and bought instead a new Tamron SP 2.8/24-70 Di VC USD with Nikon mount.
I'm very impressed of this lens which is at the moment the only lens within this range with image stabilzier. The ultrasonic autofocus is very quick and not hearable.

The lens is wide open already sharp from corner to corner, 2 stops down will improve the IQ. I would rate this lens on par with the actual Nikkor lens (60 % price add on) and with the advantage of the IS. The also brand new Canon 2.8/24-70mm II L will have no IS too. Expected price 2299 $.
