I found randomly in forest on my walk. I want make better shot from close distance but snake go out. This snake is toxic .In slovakia only this one kind of snake is toxic.

It is not hamster. It is uscardinus avellanarius small like a mouse .Have big black eyes . Is very noisy over night, we can't sleep because he jumping and running under roof Smile

Oh, that is nice! In the Netherlands very rare or extinct. Very active at night, I believe that, but is it noisy? It is so small and lightweight.

He constructing nest for winter time from grass and other material. He been hibernate over winter in nest with heart pulse 2 beat/minute. Normally have 200beat/minute. It is wonderfull

I found the English name: Common Dormouse or Hazel Dormouse (we say hazelmuis).

Does he steal food in your cottage, like a normal mouse?
