Hi folks,
I recently purchased an SMC Takumar 200mm 4.0 for $40 and fell in love with it.
Someone local is selling an SMC Takumar 50mm 1.4 for $50. It has scratches on the rear element (I wouldn't be as concerned if it was on the front element). Judging by the pictures, I was wondering if image quality would be affected greatly and if asking price is worth it. Look forward to hearing back from some of you.

Many thanks!

The SMC Tak 50/1.4 is not a rare or especially expensive lens. I would pass, personally. K.

As the others already said, it's overpriced for a damaged example. Get it for half that price or move on. Wink

Scratches are acceptable on the front element, especially at the periphery as it has virtually no impact to IQ. However, scatches on the back element is a deal breaker.
