Hi folks,
I recently purchased an SMC Takumar 200mm 4.0 for $40 and fell in love with it.
Someone local is selling an SMC Takumar 50mm 1.4 for $50. It has scratches on the rear element (I wouldn't be as concerned if it was on the front element). Judging by the pictures, I was wondering if image quality would be affected greatly and if asking price is worth it. Look forward to hearing back from some of you.
Many thanks! |

The SMC Tak 50/1.4 is not a rare or especially expensive lens. I would pass, personally. K. _________________ Kris Lockyear

As the others already said, it's overpriced for a damaged example. Get it for half that price or move on. _________________ Gary

Scratches are acceptable on the front element, especially at the periphery as it has virtually no impact to IQ. However, scatches on the back element is a deal breaker. _________________ Duc
