I took the Manfrotto CF Tripod out today for a test run to see how it would fare underground. It's a little long for my liking, so I gave it a baptism of fire by abseiling 50ft into an Abandoned slate mine. Inside this mine are a large number of spoiltips, and some can be climbed/descended to reach other levels (This mine has 7 of them). It sits higher than the top of my Backpack, but it didn't snag up on anything, so I think it's good to go.

This is a stack of 3 images, as it takes roughly 2 minutes to ascend this without ending up back where You started in a hurry, and probably picking up some pretty spectacular flesh wounds on the way (Slate is very sharp).

Sounds to me like you're an urban explorer, and I like this picture.
I'd love to see whatever else you'd care to share with us along similar lines.

Thanks guys.

If You want to see more, then check my Flickr.

Anything I can publish goes on there. Some things I can't publish, some things I just take snaps of on the way around (Photography really slows a trip down, not everyone is fine with that).

Sometimes though, I get to go and just take pictures, and can concentrate on what I want to achieve.
