It looks wonderful, actually one of the few pictures where low contrast works like magic, the framing, light and subject are really great. I showed it to my girlfriend too, and her frst reaction was "it's postprocessed like hell, it looks like a painting". |

I know it's not postprocessed. You made want to use my (later) Fujinon 1.8 more. |

Hi:
I have them M 42 lenses 55-1,8 and 55-2,2. The results were always good. Think that Fuji was making lenses for professional cameras even for large format and it was not possible to mark as Fuji a mediocre lens.

Here it is.
I have to stress that shooting conditions were not the best at all...
Iso 400. Light. Compensation +1IL... and I didn't correctly focus.
So, here is a crop of a part which was in focus.
Surely the lens is able to give far best results.
and one stopped at f2.8 :

Yes, they are different : letters' fonts, rubber ring vs metal, coating maybe.
I think that mine is older than yours.
Have they the same optical design ? _________________ Olivier - Moderator

i have owned at least 20 copies of this lens over the years. I have sold them all on ebay due to the fact that I collect the EBC coated lenses.
I find that the non-coated glass performs well but just not up to par with the coated lenses. _________________ Nikons : F4-EM-FG-FE2-FA-EL-FTN-N2020-N70-F Nikkorex

I have the same copy as you. I was going thru a collection of 50s and this one really stood out as "punchy" so I kept it. I was looking at it again the other day and now I am doing my research about fujinon. I noted a 14mm also that seems far out. I havnt located much info so if someone has some leads it would be nice to check them out :)
