Just wondering which compacts (preferably with prime lenses rather than zooms) have a multi-point AF system. I have found that the single centre spot AF on my Konica A4 results in out of focus shots sometimes.

I have dreamed of that too.
Did not find one. You should use the focus lock, if the camera is provided with that feature Smile
Sometimes there is a possibility to choose for infinity (night photo's without a flash).
The P&S cameras apparently are not built for SLR-users that want their features pocketable Sad

Yes, I don't know if any of my compacts have focus lock, I will check the A4 manual.

I just acquired another A4 in original box for 99p and a Pentax Espio 105 with 28-105 lens for 99p too (also in original box), perhaps the Espio will have a better AF system, we shall see.

I checked the manual and the A4 does indeed have the press shutter halfway focus lock. That's great new, I could have avoided the out of focus pics if I'd used the camera correctly! Embarassed
