The first impressions are not bad. Does someone know this lens? |

I used to have a Miranda RE-II for a while with several lenses (though not the specific one you reference). I always thought they were above average quality in both IQ and build. I imagine this is the case across the board. Unfortunately the shutter went so I sold the lenses and turned to a more common mount, m42. In any case you can't go wrong with that price! I wish I could find an screw-mount 24mm for that kind of money.

Probably also sold as a Soligor as Miranda and Soligor were both owned by Allied Impex. I have seen (and have) Soligor brand lenses in dedicated Miranda mount (Soligor may have been the only vendor that did that) , and Miranda-brand lenses that look like Soligors.
If its an automatic lens, odds are that its a Tokina (what isn't?). A picture would be useful. The Tokina 24/2.8 is one of the better Tokina automatic lenses. _________________ I like Pentax DSLR's, Exaktas, M42 bodies of all kinds, strange and cheap Japanese lenses, and am dabbling in medium format/Speed Graphic work. |

OK, thats an odd one.
The Miranda brand seems to have been used to sell OM-mount lenses ?
I guess this may be from the dying days of Miranda.

After the demise of Miranda, Dixons of the UK licensed the name. The Miranda products they sold and the lens you have were made by Cosina.

I have one of these lenses purchased 2nd hand in the UK in 1991 and was more than happy with its performance on my OM2SP film camera. I have not yet evaluated it on my Canon EOS600D. It appears identical in construction and similar in performance to the Tokina 24mm F2.8. |
